 GRN reporter features in Falconio murder film
Global Radio News reporter Tim Stackpool features in the Granada produced film Murder In The Outback, concerned with the disappearance and murder of British backpacker Peter Falconio and assault on his girlfriend Joanne Lees. Tim reported extensively on the committal hearing and trial, and producers of the film have used his actual broadcasts as significant background audio during the telling of the story.

Tom is the Afghanistan correspondent for the Daily Telegraph and The Economist. He began his career in journalism with the London Evening Standard in 1999. In 2003 he moved to Pakistan where he worked for the Daily Times of Lahore and the Friday Times of Lahore before going freelance in Afghanistan in August 2004. While in Afghanistan he has written for the many publications including The Independent, Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, The San Francisco Chronicle, Time Magazine, The Far Eastern Economic Review and The Scotsman. Jean MacKenzie has been a journalist for over 15 years, with a long history of covering Russian politics during the tumultuous post-Soviet years. She moved to Central Asia and Afghanistan after 9/11, as world attention shifted to the Islamic world. For the past four years she has been in Kabul, as the head of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting, which trains and mentors Afghan journalists. In September, 2006, she pioneered a reporting project in Helmand province, world capital of opium production and center of the renewed Taleban insurgency. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post Online, and numerous other venues, as well as on www.iwpr.net.
